Bullyland Glaucus Atlanticus Blue Sea Slug
About the Bullyland Glaucus Atlanticus Blue Sea Slug
Glaucus Atlanticus or the blue sea dragon is a small blue sea slug, only 3cm long in real life, which lives in tropical waters and are carried by winds and ocean currents, the blue of their bodies face upwards blending in with the blue of the water and the silver / grey underside of the sea slugs faces down blending in with the sunlight reflecting on the ocean surface. It feeds on pelagic creatures such as the Portuguese Man o War Jellyfish, storing the stinging parts within its own tissue to give its own defence against predators, so don't handle these as you may get a painful and potentially dangerous sting.
This one is quite a lot larger but is just as detailed with the blue top and grey underside and detailed moulding, luckily it also doesnt give you a sting if you hold it. Colours are slightly deeper and more muted than in the image.
