The start

Welcome to Adventure Toys. 

A family farm diversification into a children's toys shop, based on our working sheep and arable farm in North Yorkshire, which opened in 1989 when a young family couldn't find anywhere to go and see a swing built to try it, see its strength, size and if their young daughters would like it. 

The barn was converted into a shop, the garden filled with TP toys and Adventure Toys opened. We arnt  on a high street or an industrial estate, we arnt even in a village, the closest one is a mile away. We are half a mile down a country lane off a main road. We are 20 minutes off the A1 and A19 and within half an hour of Teesside and Durham or an hour of York or Newcastle, so not too remote but well done for finding us. It means parking is easy though! 

When you arrive you will now see about half an acre of toys; swings, slides, climbing frames, trampolines, seesaws all built in the display, for your children to try, as you open the shop door it is an Aladdin's cave of toys that keeps going round the corner to more toys. Even in here there are toys set out for children to try and play with. We aim to have most of the toys we sell out for you to test and try.

We make sure we have tried them all and we try and sell the unique, the traditional and the best toys we can. That will stand the test of years of play and then be handed on for more love. Once we have found a company who sell these toys, we stock most or all of their range, as everyone wants and needs different toys and we like to offer you lots of choice. This means our shelves are full, there should be something for everyone, whatever their age, ability, interests or loves.

Our team who are behind your emails, phone calls and orders are real people, we are a small team, who know and love the toys we sell. We are still a family run business with the third generation now becoming our chief toy testers and letting us know their thoughts and ideas on the toys we stock. Because we have the toys here on site, if you have any questions or requests, just ask. We either will know or can find out for you.

As we know the toys we sell and we build them here for our display, we also carry the UK Spare Parts for Little Tikes and have carried spares for other companies over the years. Which may mean you contact us for spare parts for a much-loved toy, one that you have just bought or one you are giving a second lease of life too. How ever old we usually have the part or can give you an alternative if it has been discontinued so long that we no longer have the part!

Adventure Toys started with TP toys, which are mainly larger outdoor toys, we visited Toy Fairs in London and around the world, which we still do, to find other toys and companies which we think have great toys. Some of these toys we have sold for a very long time as they are great toys and still loved over the years, brands such as BRIO trains, Corolle dolls, Falk tractors, Ambi baby toys and Little Tikes have stood the test of time with us and we are the main UK stockists for these lines. We keep adding too our range and always hope to have something new and different each time you visit us in store or online.
